Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ID Scanner ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the App. By using ID Scanner you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
ID Scanner is operated by Infinexalabs LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA. For any privacy question, contact us at support@idscanner.beer.
2. Information we process
Identity document data
When you scan a supported ID, the App reads the barcode on the back directly on your device (for example name, date of birth, document number, and expiry date). Saved scan records retain the complete document number so it can be reviewed later with the record. A saved record can also include age, sex, address, issue date, place of birth, nationality, and issuing country when available. Fast Scan does not capture or save a camera image.
Camera and photos
The App requests camera access to read the barcode on supported IDs. It may also request camera or photo-library access if you choose to add an optional guest or record photo. If you explicitly start Deep Check, the App photographs the front or photo page and, if you choose, the back. It sends only the photo or photos you take through our secured service to a document-checking provider. The latest photo or photo pair is stored privately with that record and kept separate from photos added by staff. The App does not capture a selfie in Deep Check and accesses only media you actively choose to add.
Scan records and watchlist
The App stores a history of your scans and any guest-status entries you create so you can review them later. Records are saved on your device first and are privately backed up for this app installation when a connection is available.
Product analytics
The App collects limited product analytics, such as app launches, onboarding progress, feature and purchase outcomes, and record counts. These events include a random identifier assigned to this app installation and technical details such as the operating system and software version. We use this information to understand which features are useful, find reliability problems, and improve the App.
Product analytics does not include scanned ID details, document or guest photos, notes, or complete document numbers. It also does not include the private identifier used to back up this installation's records. The App does not collect crash reports in this release.
Advert measurement
When the App is first opened it shares a limited technical signal — your device model, operating system version, approximate country, and an identifier for this app installation — with our measurement provider. This is sent for every install, not only ones that came from an advert, because it is what tells us whether an advert brought you here or you found the App on your own. The provider is also told when a subscription starts, so we can see which adverts lead to subscriptions. Apple separately gives us its own install measurement.
Our measurement provider never receives your scan records, guest entries, notes, or photos. The App does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and does not use the advertising identifier that would make that possible.
3. Where your data is processed and stored
Fast Scan reads IDs on your device. Scan records, watchlist entries, and photos you choose to save are privately backed up for this app installation when a connection is available. Deep Check requires an internet connection and sends only the ID photo or photos you take for that check to our service provider. This backup belongs to the current installation; reinstalling the App or changing phones will not restore it. We aim to minimise what leaves your device.
4. How we use information
- To read IDs and check ages when you choose to scan.
- To perform Deep Check when you explicitly photograph an ID.
- To show your scan history, insights, and watchlist alerts.
- To understand feature use, reliability, and purchase outcomes.
- To operate and secure the App.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal basis
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our agreement with you (the Terms), our legitimate interests in operating the App, and compliance with legal obligations. Because identity documents can include special-category data, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to scan any document that does not belong to you.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with trusted providers who maintain private backups, perform an optional Deep Check, provide product analytics, measure which adverts lead to installs, and support essential App services. We require these providers to protect the data to the same or an equivalent standard described in this Policy, including through contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms. We may also share data with authorities where legally required.
7. Retention
Scan records, their latest Deep Check ID photo or photo pair, and guest-status entries are kept until you delete them or request deletion of associated account data. Removing the App does not by itself delete the online backup. You can clear records from within the App; offline cleanup resumes the next time the App is opened with a connection. Contact us for account-data deletion.
Product analytics and advert-measurement data are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to understand App use, improve the App, and measure campaigns, after which they are deleted or aggregated. You may contact us to request deletion of data that can be associated with your app installation.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact support@idscanner.beer. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required by your local law without appropriate consent.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. No way of storing or sending data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where required we will seek your consent.
